The administrative team is led by the chairperson. The team also includes a vice-chairperson, secretary, treasurer and business relations coordinator. The team is responsible for administrative activities like planning activities, organizing meetings, finances, member issues, co-operation, orders and fundraising. The administration team enables the subject association’s continuity, quality and development.

I’m Hilja and I’m a freshman studying social policy. I moved to Jyväskylä from Kuopio and I have enjoyed my time here very well. In my free time I like to be in nature, listen to true crime podcasts and drink good coffee with my friends.

Howdy!

My name is Venni and I’m second year social scientist as well as Fokus’s vice chairperson of the unusual year of 2021. Last year I gained some really warm memories and experiences being responsible for sports and that motivated me to continue my work in our precious Fokus.

As a vice chairperson my main fields of expertise are member stuff, (overall)badges and most importantly being the helping hand of our chair. The things I enjoy the most are the variety of tasks and that I can be aware of what everyone’s doing and more importantly how they are doing.

To be believable ex-sports responsible I use some of my spare time to exercise but to be honest most of that time is spent listening and playing music. Juha Kujanpää

I’m Juha, first year student in sociology and art history. This is my first time in student organizational activities. I study sociology & art history and I intend to do master’s degree on both. In sociology I am interested especially in class study.

As a representative of business relations my job is to take care of relations with Fokus´s partnership companies and organizations. I aim to acquire partnership companies that benefits Fokus´s members and the partner companies as well as organizations. If you have any suggestions on future partnerships, don’t hesitate to contact me!

My free time consists of hobbies such as road cycling, ultra running, reading, collecting vinyls and classical menswear. I also enjoy wandering in the nature. You can often spot me running, cycling or walking across Jyväskylä, specially near lake Jyväsjärvi. Hi!

I’m Mira, 19-year-old secretary of Fokus. It’s my first study year in the bachelor's degree program of YFI and I’m interested (at least) in sociology and social & public policy. I’m originally from Heinola and now I have settled in the beautiful student city of Jyväskylä. Besides studying, I like to spend my time playing music, painting, and knitting.

I joined the board of Fokus to learn new things and to be part of an organization that unites students. As a secretary I’m in charge of meeting minutes and I also take care of other meeting arrangements. In addition, I’m part of the administrative team.

The academic affairs team is led by the head of academic affairs. In addition to the academic affairs representatives of sociology, social work and social and public policy from Fokus ry, it includes other academic affairs representatives from other subject associations in the department of social sciences and philosophy. The purpose of the team is to work as a link between students and the university staff, to promote students’ interests and to develop educational activity.

I’m Meeri, a freshman studying social sciences. This year I will be responsible for education policy in Fokus.

As responsible for education policy, my job is to communicate between students and staff. We (Matleena, Marika and I) take care of the students' rights. Hello there!

My name is Ilmari and I am one of our event coordinators. This is my first year studying social sciences at JYU. After considering for a while, I decided to apply for the board of Fokus ry. I am looking forward to this year, hopefully there will be a time when we can organize live events and gatherings. Until that day comes, all of us in the event team do our best to plan safe alternatives for live meetings! :)

I am 23 years old and I recently moved from the city of Helsinki to Jyväskylä. During my time here in Jyväskylä, I’ve enjoyed the beautiful nature and numerous outdoor activities the city has to offer. Besides studying and wandering around the nature, I love spending time with my friends, playing board and video games, going to the sauna, drinking coffee, and occasionally watching football. I am also desperately trying to practice playing guitar, but due to my lazy personality the progress is very slow and sluggish.

Good morning!

I am Lukas and I am the Representative of International Affairs of Fokus. I am a second year’s social scientist, and this is also my second year in the board of Fokus. I am originally from Helsinki, but (at least according to my siblings) my dialect has already got weird. Besides my studies I like to spend time on boardgames, sports and travelling.

My name is Marja and I come from Helsinki. I am a second year student and I study political science and social and public policy. I’m a member of the communication team in Fokus ry. My job is to take care of our student association’s own magazine called Fogue. Fogue is published once a year. I come up with the magazine’s stories, the outlook and I recruit its writers.

The wellbeing team is led by Social Affairs Coordinator. The other team members are the culture representative, sports representative and environmental affairs & development representative. The team takes care of the well-being of our members by offering various non-alcoholic events (e.g. cultural, sports, working life and excursion events). The team advocates for a safe environment and sense of community in the subject association.

I`m Erika, first year student in YFI. Originally I`m from Helsinki and I have totally fallen in love with Jyväskylä! 

Sport has always been a significant part of my life. That`s why I feel I fit so well to the role as a sport coordinator. Synchronized skating is a very dear sport for me and I`ve also done some couching along the years. You may have seen me at Viitaniemi skating rink or at group training earlier this fall ;)

I’m Liina. I am 22 years old and originally from Pori. After living a while in Helsinki I moved to Jyväskylä to study sosiology, social and public policy, and sustainable development. I’m a first year student and this is my first year in subject association activity.

I’m in charge of environmental affairs and development co-operation. My tasks consist mainly of attending JYY’s subcommittees for environmental affairs and development co-operation.

In my spare time I like listening to music and different podcasts. I love live music and can’t wait to see what Jyväskylä has to offer in this area. I enjoy the outdoors and the occasional visit to a summer cottage. I’m also very passionate when it comes to board games.
